Elwood preseason diary

July 4, 2012 No Comments

PRESEASON TRAINING HAS BEGUN!

Well our pre-season training for the 2012-13 season is well underway and the club is impressed with the enthusiasm and the player involvement thus far.

We are getting an average of 13 to 14 players per session for our Monday indoor training but we always want to see more faces!  Speaking of new faces, we have already had three new players turn up to training (with a couple more to join us shortly) and the big competition — for the best two minute beep  test — is heating up, with Sam Mirenda leading the way on 27.  So it’s all starting to happen!

There are only eight weeks to go before the season starts and just three weeks before outdoor training starts at Elwood, so dust off your gear and get yourself down to training, if what we’ve seen already spots will be hard fought this season. View the full remaining preseason schedule here.

Training on Thursday September 13 will be a compulsory training session for all senior players, this will also be Senior Registration Day — this is when the  2012 / 2013 registration fees are due.

The first selection night will be Thursday  September 27 and is also a compulsory session.

Elwood’s new coach, Bobby Chawla, arrives in Melbourne on September 20 and will be expecting to see as many people as possible at training during the remaining weeks leading up to the first round.
