T20: Elwood defeat Carnegie South

November 20, 2013 No Comments

Elwood kicked off its Twenty20 campaign in style by defeating Carnegie South at Elwood last night.

Elwood made 7/149 with two batsmen producing fantastic knocks to post a highly competitive score. Opener Nathan Harris (51 off 51 balls) and Oscar Persson (45 offf 30 balls) starred with the bat and laid the foundations to defend a healthy total.

In the run chase, the Spiders started well as their opening partnership putting on 43 before losing 5/15 and losing their momentum. All the Elwood bowlers bowled well, with captain Bobby Chawla the leading wicket taker with 2/9 off three overs. The fielding was excellent and Luke Baillie was sharp behind the stumps with 2 catches, a stumping and a hand hand in a run out.

Thanks to our superstar scorer Sam Marcolin and his love of using iPad data, you can access the full wagon wheels for all players and comprehensive stats here.

Our next T20 game is next Tuesday at Elwood against Brighton Union.
