November 26, 2013 No Comments

Last night, on a beautiful afternoon, the Elwood Cricket Club made it two wins from successive Twenty20 games as they claimed the inaugural Elwood Community Bendigo Bank Cup against Brighton Union.

It was a great evening down at Wattie Watson as Mix Master Moose pumped out the tunes and the club thanks everyone who came down to support the boys and those that helped out.

Brighton Union made 134 batting first with Stuart Bell making a fine 50 not out for Union. Chris Phillips was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 20 off his 4 overs.

The run chase started with a bang with the in-form opening duo of Nathan Harris and Anders Bulow putting on 60 for the opening stand. Nathan made 44 from just 22 balls, including 2 sixes, one which was smashed over the nets! Anders made a composed 22 off 29 balls.

A few wickets fell but it was the composed head of Oscar pesson who, as he did last game, got Elwood home. Oscar is in fine form at the moment and made 34 not out off 33 balls including the boundary that won the game for Elwood with just 4 balls to spare.

Thanks to Sam Marcolin, a full statistical breakdown including wagon wheels in below for your enjoyment.

Elwood play Washington park next Tuesday at packer Park in the final home and away T20 game before finals.
