On Tuesday night at Wattie Watson oval, Elwood defeated West Bentleigh by 10 wickets in the opening match of SECA’s Twenty20 tournament.

Losing the toss and being sent in to field, West Bentleigh made a defendable 3/143, with Chris Fidler (46) and Damien Casey (47) opening that batting and doing most of the damage.

All the bowlers did their job with Howie Persson, Matt Young and Mitch Clark all getting a wicket each.

In reply, skipper Nathan Harris and Adam Howard opened the batting and saw that Elwood got teh win by themselves. Nathan finished with a well crafted 66 not out and Howie finished with 75 not out.

It was great to see so many people down at the club, supporting the boys, and Elwood play Carngie South at their home ground, Lord Reserve, next Tuesday from 5.15pm.
