The Elwood Cricket Club today can proudly announce the appointment of back-to-back Club Champion and reigning Longmuir player of the year Adam Howard as head coach for the 2015-16 season.

Last year’s senior coach and former Australian Test Captain Graham Yallop has accepted the role as Elwood’s Director of Coaching as the club looks to strengthen our commitment to development and performance in both our junior and senior ranks.

And in further good news, the club can also announce that Nathan Harris will again be our 1st XI Captain for the upcoming season.

The club is thrilled to appoint Adam in the role of senior coach. Adam will bring a player’s drive to the position and, as arguably the best player in the competition, can lead from the front and the club believes all the boys will follow him. Adam’s focus will be organising our preseason and our regular Tuesday and Thursday training.

“I’m excited at the opportunity to coach the club,” said Adam.

“We have a great bunch of people and I’m looking forward to helping the club achieve success.”

Graham Yallop has also accepted the part-time role of Director of Coaching, where he will focus on working with our coaches, elite juniors and senior players for in-depth one-on-one tuition. The club believes this is the best use of Graham’s enormous credentials and experience, and we are exceptionally pleased that someone of Graham’s stature in the game wants to be part of our club and help our players – particularly our juniors – develop their cricket.

Finally the club is in great hands with Nathan Harris at the helm as captain of our club. Universally respected, we steadfastly believe leadership starts at the top, and nobody is better to lead the club than Nathan. And happy birthday yesterday, Nanger!

So congratulations to Howie, Graham and Nathan.

We will be sending some information in the coming weeks regarding pre-season training and junior registration.
