Junior Season 2017/18: Message from the President

August 16, 2017 No Comments

Welcome to season 2017/18!

Here you can find all the relevant information you will need at this stage of the year, and further communications will follow in the coming weeks.

Last season was a great success for our club, and most importantly, it was fun, as cricket should be.

We won a premiership in our Under 14Cs, our Under 12Bs made finals, our T20 Blast side won their carnival and our Under 12Ds and Under 14Bs just missed out on finals. It was a wonderful season and we are looking forward to an even better season this summer!

I want to take this opportunity again to thank our junior committee, our coaches, team managers and everyone involved in last season for making it such a fun, successful and memorable season.

This season we are pleased to announce that Jake Farrow will continue in the role of Junior Coach overseeing our junior program. The club has also appointed Gary Elliott as Junior Coordinator.

“With the start of the season fast approaching, my role as junior coordinator is gathering momentum as I begin to embrace the challenges ahead,” said Gary.

“I have been involved with the club for the last 5 years, coaching 4 of those years from T20 to U12B. During this time I have found the teams that function the best have significant parental involvement. So as we head into a new season I urge you all to consider taking on a role, whether it be coaching, team managing, scoring or joining the junior committee.”

“The club will only ever be successful with the help and support of parents. I look forward to meeting you all throughout the season. Please don’t hesitate to contact me at any time if you have questions”

If there is a time to get involved with the cricket club, it’s now – the more help we get, the better the season will be!

We are all pumped for the season ahead, and we hope you are too!
