50th Anniversary Celebration

The Elwood Cricket Club’s 50th anniversary celebration was held at the Olympic Dining Room and Betty Cuthbert Lounge at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on the evening of Saturday 19 November 2022.

It was a tremendous night for the club with over 300 players, past and present, along with their partners turned up.

Stories were shared, bread was broken and long forgotten connections were reforged.

Grand tales of heroics were recited to rapturous applause and later in the night, somber tributes were given to those who were no longer with us but gave so much to the club.

The importance of connecting the old generation with the new cannot be underestimated. It strengthened the club’s culture and granted new perspectives moving forward.

One of the highlights of the night was the announcement of Elwood’s Greatest Ever XI. Here it is in no particular order.
